Namdo Food Festival: October 29th - November 1st.

Considering how many festivals were cancelled because of swine flu, it's a little understandable that I've forgotten that there are still some going on. One of those is the Namdo Food Festival (남도음식문화큰치) scheduled for October 29th through November 1st.

Naganeupseong Folk Village (낙안읍성민속마을) in Suncheon's Nagan-myeon is worth a visit, and the best time to do so is during one of the two yearly festivals. The village is accessible via city buses 63 and 68. Here are some photographs from my post on last year's trip.

The jam with bees in it was one of the least popular items:

Last year was noteworthy in that they were attempting to set a world record for the longest string of red peppers in the world.

The succeeded and created "the longest pepper line of love" that was 1,395 meters long and had 29,037 peppers. In the process they spawned the post with the second-greatest one-liner in Brian in Jeollanam-do history.

OK, I'll bite. In your opinion, what were your top five funniest lines?

Damn, Rob, that was going to be a post in the run-up to the K-logs. But thus far I've only ranked the top 3:
3. The title from this post.
2. The final line of this one.
1. My personal favorite was one of the captions here.

I have to humbly disagree with you, Brian.

#2 is far and away your best line ever.

Hey, how far is the Suncheon folk villiage from Suncheon proper? I've been to Suncheon twice and wanted to go to the folk villiage, but didn't have enough time because I had to catch a bus or a train back. It seems like an interesting place.

It's about twenty kilometers from the bus terminal, about a thirty-minute bus ride.
