The Shinan Tulip Festival (신안튤립축제) opens tomorrow. Shinan is one of the three Jeollanam-do counties comprised entirely of islands, and thus isn't the easiest place to get around. The festival is held on Imja-do, accessible by ferry from Shinan's Ji-do about once an hour.
I won't be able to go, and don't know too many people who will. It looks pretty nonetheless, and if I ever get a chunk of free time I'd love to tour around the islands of Shinan, Jindo, and Wando. This post is supposed to be informative, but it ultimately is just a chance to post this picture of a kick-ass windmill.

I'm heading there with the gf on Saturday (her family lives there). I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. It's a nice little island.
I too wish to visit the festival but don't have much info on how to reach this place.I live in Seoul ...can someone guide me in reaching there..it will be really gr88 help.
vimsha, just so you know, this post was for 2009, not this year. I will post an update in a few days about the 2010 one.
There are regular buses to Mokpo from Seoul, from the bus terminal in Gangnam. The festival is held on Ji-do, accessible by ferry from Imja-do, which is in turn accessible by ferry from Muan, a county next to Mokpo. When I post the update for the 2010 festival, I will try to post better transportation information, so give me about a day or two. Thanks.
