That picture with 81 side dishes kind of looks like the table setting the principal of my first middle school on Ganghwa island tried to bribe me with when they took me out for dinner to try and coerce/beg/manipulate me into signing a second contract to stay in the two street village, or rather, hamlet I was living and teaching in--the count was probably more like 50 or so but it was still impressive.
I ate a lot of good food, and tried not to cackle like a madman as the principal, vice-principal, and my co-teacher tried to figure out how to get me to re-sign . . .
I was wondering why my traffic suddenly quadrupled. Thanks for the plug Brian. The food didn't actually taste that good truth be told; I guess thats what happens when you serve 81 dishes, quality becomes an issue. I also couldn't help but wonder how much of the banchon was recycled.
Been reading your stuff quite a bit lately, keep it up!
