This sort of situation is not uncommon in Korean churches overseas. Yes, this is a wee bit extreme but you can find numerous similar happenings at any Korean Church. Everyone wants to be an established leader of a Korean community which leads to these fights. Goes a little like this:Immigrate, join a Korean church, make some friends, be a general dickhead at church, claim the pastor is unable to lead a congregation, go off and start your own church then reap the rewards of being an upstanding Korean American Christian pillar. I have seen it happen several times in the three years that I spent around the Korean community in Canada.
