Everything I've ever heard of Korea in international competition has been that they have been sore winners (flag planting), sore losers (death threats) and hypocrites (Spain-Korea 2002 World Cup).
To be fair, though, how different is that from any other country?
If they did call Ichiro a monkey, however, being racists is an interesting new touch on the tired ol' formula, I must say...
Seriously, every time I've tried to give Korea the benefit of the doubt, they just prove themselves to be even more unlikable. I gotta say it: I'm glad they lost.
Well said. I can't stand the flag planting. It's just so rude, for any country. If Japan did that, what kinds of comments would be forthcoming on Naver? I shudder to think...

God, one of the Chosun (shit-bo) commentors says Ichiro looks like a monkey. Well, sorry, but don't be a sore loser.

"but don't be a sore loser"
It could have been worse: they could have won and then we'd be treated to the spectacle of them being sore winners.
I can stomach sore losing more than sore winning.
Ichiroooooooo!...Arigatou!
