A South Korean woman infected with Influenza A died on Wednesday, health officials said, raising the local death toll from the H1N1 virus to four, according to Yonhap News.
The 47-year-old woman, a resident of the Seoul metropolitan area who suffered from hypertension, diabetes and kidney failure, died of shock earlier in the day after being infected with the virus, the Ministry of Health and Welfare said.
Unlike previous deaths, the women showed no symptoms of respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, the ministry said.
The Yonhap piece continues:
The ministry added that the condition of another flu patient under treatment has suddenly deteriorated, raising the possibility of an additional death from the virus.
It adds that vaccinations will begin in November, with 10 million people getting them by February, 2010. The death of this poor woman is the fourth from swine flu in South Korea since August 15th.

Is it just me or does this virus only kill Koreans with severe, pre-existing medical conditions?
Yes, Matt - I've noticed that too. In fact, this deadly, foreign 'swine flu' bears an uncanny resemblance to another disease that has a remarkably similar pathogenesis, a condition commonly known as 'flu'. I wonder if the two are linked in some way?
