Two new commercials from Mr. Pizza to show how exotic their Curry Curry Pizza is. This first one is a longer version of the original commercial that came out last month. This time it explains that the star is the "Curry Prince," who came from India to try curry pizza in Korea.
And this one has some Koreans in it, including Park Bo-young, a celebrity I don't know.
There are two curry pizzas, Curry Curry Chicken and Curry Curry Fish. I don't know about you, but I can't find out any more about these two items because of the page's encoding.
Commenter Breda Blog said the original one is her least-favorite commercial, and fattycat and WeikuBoy were moved by this Baskin Robbins one.
Indeed, that does make me want to die, but not as much as this one from Won Cashing (원캐싱):

i like the Won Cashing commercial. It's a catchy jingle I think. I hate the curry one tho!
Has there been an outbreak of dignity-phobia amongst Korean actresses or something?
I see your Won Cashy, and raise you the whole angelic universe of cutie girl ads and K-Pop videos. Brian, you're being much too hard on them. Korean girls (which is to say, unmarried Korean women) might be more trouble than they're worth in real life (and after two years here I would NEVER, under any circumstances, marry into this culture); but I really like K-Pop kultur, and can't get enough.
The only thing I hate are ajosshi shouting at me at top volume over my TV or the loudspeakers at work or on a Hyundai Porter.
In summary: young women('s voices) good, men('s voices) bad.
For anyone living in Heibangchon in Seoul, I'm 99% certain that the 'Indian Prince' is the youngish guy working in Cafe Alexandria.
I have to say the new 원캐싱 commercial is far better than the old one, with the woman doing that weird herky-jerky robotic dance.
And as far as the 대출 commercials go, my least favorite was the series of "빠르네 빠르네 빠르네..." ones from Rush(y) and Cash(y). Especially the one with the zaftig black woman singing deliberately Konglishized pronunciations of "rush" and "cash". It's like you could just hear her dignity being crushed. Also, the fact that she was backed up by two women of dubious melanism.
I wasn't crazy about the IBK ads with Fauxpra Winfrey:

Oprah impersonator: "Do you have bank account . . . of IBK?" Ugh.
what do you think about the angry whopper commercial? is the whopper supposed to make you angry or cure your anger?
I've never seen it. Is it in Korea?
