This one is classic, and truly deserving of a translation.
"프레시안"이 B교수의 전 한국인 여자 친구를 통해서 확보한 이들이 주고받은 문자 메시지를 보면, "서울에서 우리는 무엇이든 할 수 있어", "우리는 뱀파이어(착취하는 사람의 은어)야", "어제 또 다른 여자가 처녀성을 잃은거야?" 등이 있다. B교수는 전 여자 친구의 이름을 빌려 휴대전화 서비스를 개통했다.
I showed this to my wife, a very liberal and left-wing girl, who is absolutely furious about this. But she points out something important: Pressian is using English teachers to criticize 2MB, since he wants Koreans to lean English and has hired more English teachers. Sadly, we're scapegoats--collateral damage in the surreal bi-partisan warfare going on in this country.
"According to Pressian’s investigation, American professor A, who worked at university P in America and in 2007 was invited to work at university Y in Seoul, shared drugs such as the painkillers oxycodone and percodan with Ms. K, a woman he knew from school and met in front of a club in Hongdae. One of the woman’s siblings is a nurse.
If ingested the drugs, used to treat cancer, can cause many injuries including visual and auditory hallucinations and mania. Because of the danger of addiction they are classified as controlled substances like morphine."
Oxycodone and percodan are not used as cancer treatment drugs. Koreans are completely fucking ignorant about painkillers because they rarely get them prescribed.. even when they need them. My ex-girlfriend (when we were in Korea together in 2006-07) had a severe foot injury and required emergency micro-surgery to repair a nearly detached toe. They first of all wanted to do the surgery with no anesthetic (just lidocane) and then after the surgery when she was screaming in severe pain refused to prescribe any pain medicine, even though she was a hospital in-patient. Her blood pressure skyrocketed and it triggered a seizure. I was seriously angry and called the US Embassy. After embassy intervention, they finally gave her morphine. The doctor told me, "Americans are much weaker than Koreans. Koreans don't need pain medicine." Ok. Whatever, you stupid fuck.
My point is that the Korean medical establishment is so completely ignorant about pain management that most people have never even heard of Oxycontin or Vicodin, so when Pressian states something factually inaccurate like Oxy causing hallucinations, the average Korean doesn't know any different so Kim thinks that the facts must be accurate.

Now THAT is quality journalism!

I love this quote from the article,
