Pittsburgh most livable city in the US, The Economist says.

Pittsburgh placed 1st in the US and 29th in the world. Three Canadian cities and three Australian ones are in the top ten. Seoul came in 58th. Plenty of other angles via a Google news search.

Apparently Vancouver is in a county called B.C. :p They list the province for that one and not the country.

Love it. No place like home.

I have been to or lived in many of those cities on the livability list. They are relatively boring. I guess one of the criteria for "livability" includes "not that exciting".

I lived in Helsinki for two years and must say, after living in Budapest, Berlin, Washington, San Francisco and even Bratislava, it is the most boring place I have even lived in.

One day in Helsinki, I was walking behind some foreign tourists. I overheard one saying to the other, "This is the most boring capital I have ever been to." I burst out laughing because it is so true. I wasn't a tourist, I was a resident and I thought it was boring.

Vancouver's all right. I dug Vancouver. A lot of cool things to do there.

Toronto sucks. And I've lived all over the world. I hated Toronto. It tries way too hard to be New York and fails miserably.

Montreal's where its at, as far as Canadian cities go.

Seoul came in 58th, but you're missing the best part:

Osaka, Japan ranked highest out of Asian cities at 13th, followed by Tokyo in 19th.

Hong Kong ranked 39th and Singapore beats out Seoul, too: in at 54th.
