Nice--at first I thought you were making a little story. The host is an ass-monkey. What do you know about him?
I would like to know if the host thinks those expressions are correct, like Get a rest et al. Of course dunder-head, banana nose Isaac would have to look like a retard. Keep 'em coming. The hostess of the other pics is cuter. I mean the one with those pig-tails. At least give me some eye-candy with the torture!

It's hard to make a story, but I'm working on one for next week. I don't know much about these guys, but I'll look into it more. To be fair (I hate being fair), the male panelist isn't teaching these wrong expressions, but it saying an incorrect phrase in order to be corrected by the host. However, yeah, the host is teaching these bad expressions.

I actually hardly ever watch the show, I can't bear it. But it's so overt in its dumbing-down of English and English-speakers. I mean, they have this panel where the Koreans gabber on and on, and then it's "The Isaac Show" or whatever it's called, where the two foreign monkeys literally come out and do a song and dance. So that's how you've chosen to depict the speakers of the language you're trying to learn, right?

And the foreigners on the show, the only people on the show with an actually knowledge of the language, are generally just reduced to this type of behavior. Once in a while they'll be trotted out for some listen-repeat, but it's like every other English show here that renders English ridiculous in order to make it less threatening to its learners.

I brought this up at a teachers' workshop last year, and they said they like the show. English is stressful, they said, and students are always stressing out about it. This makes English fun, they said. Fine, make learning fun (even though it's always up to ENGLISH and ENGLISH alone to be fun, but whatever). But no response as to why it's the always foreign monkeys acting like buffoons.

Isaac is an ass-monkey and an embarrassment to edumacators everywhere. I hope I am never desperate enough for money and ego-inflation to whore myself and my language out as he does by choice.

Brian--yeah, I've seen the show, but I have also seen the host teach incorrect English as correct English, as I stated in a previous post. So I was wondering if these specific examples were being passed off as wrong English or as correct English.
Perhaps I will start my own Korean language school (why are there non in South Cholla?--that is a rant for another post) with Koreans dressed up in Tae Kwon do uniforms kicking bowls of kimchee from people's heads. It's called Edutainment.

P.S--don't forget the eye-candy. It breaks up the more serious articles into something I can really care about.

Damn, I found a newsworthy bit of eye candy last night but I forgot to post it. I'm at work now . . . but I'll see what I can do. Because I care.

Please stop posting these photos. I'll be taking people out from a clock tower soon.

Are you highlighting more awkward English or is the number of errors increasing?

These are all from a few years ago, I'm not following the new episodes.

And I'm just piecing together stills to show the bizarreness of the program. My original intention was to just show how our "foreign talent" present themselves on TV, but I also like to throw in garbage from the cohosts, too. So long as the show's on TV, and so long as it renders foreigners and foreign languaegs ridiculous, I'll keep the weekly special going.
