David of Staypuff.net is a swine flu target.

David, and quite a few other teachers commenting here and on Dave's ESL Cafe, has been approached by his school ostensibly with parents' concerns over the foreign staff having swine flu. His paraphrase of his head teacher's remarks:
‘…because of this, we’re asking you not to interact and meet with any other foreigners for the unforeseeable future as they could be carriers of the disease…”

Found via Ruby Ramblings, a blog that's become famous because the author is currently quarantined, but looks to be pretty good in its own right.

Inevitably, every time there is an outbreak of some sort, part of the Korean media tries simultaneously these two appoaches:
1.- There is an invasion from the outside world.
2.- Koreans tend to be resistant (maybe because of Kimchi, ginseng or some other product) to this new threat (= they do NOT transmit the desease among themselves).
This goes all the way back to the first cases of AIDS in Korea.
The conclusion is that foreigners are the cause of the problem.

Pure unadulterated insanity. The Hermit Kingdom lives! Close the gates, seal the walls and kick the dirty (disease-carrying) foreigners out!

Still waiting for Kushibo/Nora to leave a comment on this post justifying the actions of the employer/parents...

Too busy trolling around other threads, perhaps?
