Those of you in Suncheon might be interested in Tomo (map here), in Geumdang, which opened over the summer.

My fiancee and I were excited about the self-proclaimed "Japanese style cafeteria," but were disappointed with the westernish interior---faux brick, leather chairs, and black and white pictures of old white people on the walls---and the limited menu. Walking by a couple days ago, though, I see they're advertising 일본라멘 and 일본우동. But having had a lot of ramen in Hakata and a lot of Udong in Kagawa, I'm not optimistic about how Suncheon'll stack up.

I haven't found anything in Korea purporting to be like Hakata ramen to be even close. Hakata ramen rocked my world view on ramen noodles.
A Japanese Facebook friend from Gwangju went there recently:

A little expensive and the noodles were off. Nonetheless, I'd like to give it a try.
My fiancee is from Kagawa, famous for Sanuki Udong. It bothers her that there's a Sanuki Udong place in Incheon Airport, because you know it's going to be insanely bad. I'm like "dude, now you know how I feel every time I see a goddamn sandwich, or a piece of garlic bread, or soup, or a cup of coffee."
And Hakata ramen is awesome. I was in Japan last month and ate it three times.
