The city will amend the Expo. Supporting Sepcial Act, establish the Suncheon Bay Beach Ecological Center for using it as the subtitle center of Expo., establish the outside parking lot in Sindae Area, and will expand SOC facilities connected to Suncheon Bay and the other tourist attractions continuously.
Also it will hold the seminar by the expert to prepare atmosphere of autonomous participation of civil and social organizations, and will pick out the civil cooperative business with the neighboring holding cities in Southern Area.
Not to change the subject, I got a big kick out of finding this in Suncheon last week:

A pair of mini shorts advertised as a new arrival for winter.
I'll tell you what, I'm pleased the Suncheon city site has news releases in English now and again. But Christ they're bad. Here's one that's news to me: "SUNCHEON IS NOTED FOR ITS PROGRAM OF CULTURAL ACTIVITIES FOR FOREIGNERS." Sorry for shouting.
The main attractions of Suncheon gain popularity foreigners.
According to the city, 25 employees from agencies abroad of Samsung Techwin (Air Samsung) will come on 30th day. Composed of 18 foreigners and 7 Korean, they will visit the Suncheon Bay, Nagan-eubseong, Seonamsa and will experience the tea ceremony in the center of wild tea.
Samsung Techwin is a company that produces turbo-chargers and wind in the nation and abroad, and organizes cultural training twice a year.
On the one hand, interpreters and English researchers of Foreign Affairs and National Security recently visited for training in the overall commander of Suncheon Bay, Nagan-eubseong, Seonamsa and etc.
The reason, the town of Suncheon stands out among foreigners is that it is possible to experience Korean culture in different ways with little time and Suncheon Bay, is the first sandbar of be selected as the site picturesque Songgwangsa and Seonamsa where you can admire the history of Korean Buddhism and Nagan-eubseong where people still live in preserving all that was past.
On the one hand, the city strives to leave a good impression by posting interpreters of English, Japanese, Chinese etc. for foreign tourists whose number increases gradually.
I really have no idea what the fuck that was all about. I love Suncheon, but dude. There are, like, a couple dozen English teachers working out of city hall plus another few score at its public schools. Here's more about Nagan-eubseong:
'A squash' round and 'a loofah' long felt the atmosphere of autumn.
Hidden by the stone wall and Ssar door, Nagan-eubseong of Suncheon retains the old appearance with the tunnel squash feel that the atmosphere in the autumn prevents visitors parity.
These days, with high heat past, we can find a tunnel squash wearing squash round and long loofah in abundance.
On the way crossing the byway, pigweeds and visitors are staying, and cucurbits and climbing ivy on the wall make us feel the classic charm.
Since we are on the threshold of autumn, it would be nice to travel in family-Nagan eubseong.
Again, it's great they're making the effort, because I've learned about quite a few goings-on from those postings. But please make a little more effort and get somebody to help. It has really taken a great deal of restraint on my part to not post every single one. But I'll just leave the rest for you to perHOLY SHIT THIS ONE'S AWESOME:
THE SEWAGE PLANT IN SUNCHEON IS BECOMING VERY POPULAR AS THE PLACE OF DABBLING IN WATER FOR CHILDREN
The playground at the wastewater treatment in Suncheon is gaining popularity among students of kindergarten.
According to the city, the number of nursery schools visiting the playground of water has increased largely because of the heat came earlier than normal. Until now, the month of July, 3500 children, over 15% compared to last year, have fun from there.
This playground of water which was founded in 2004, attracts children with a water composed of various models of characters from comics and 12 types of attraction where children can have fun with the experience by games.
The city provides that there will be more children visiting with the beginning of summer vacation and really focus on the development of equipment and management of hygiene.
In addition, the city is planning to install a small pool, slide and a fountain held after the budget hundred million won, so that more children play in safety.
The facilities such as the artificial field of sports and in-line, the learning center on water etc, are always open to the public.
I just pooped my pants. I guess "water treatment facility" would be a better-sounding rendering. If I'm not mistaken you pass that site on the bus ride to Suncheon Bay, and if you run a Naver search you can find lots of pictures of cute preschoolers running around there.

Ahhhh. That brings me back to my own youth. Summers spent wallowing in steaming hot filth down by the old sludge pit near the landfill. These are the activities that bring us all together, young and old, korean and non-korean, 2-eared and 3-eared...
Ohhhh Suncheon!
I share your frustration with the "let's just feed it into the translator and see what garbage comes out" texts... Mokpo isn't *that* bad, but then again, we aren't the hub of foreigner site enjoyment or whatever Suncheon is claiming to be.
They've done a really good job on improving the area around Suncheon Bay - noticed that when I was there last weekend with eleventy billion other people... with better parking, better roads, and what seems to be less disturbance of the people who actually live and farm out there.
Actually, the whole tourist infrastructure around Suncheon has been vastly improved over the past few years... It's nice to see money being put to preserving valid claims to fame and historical relics that are meaningful -- like the wild tea centre, Seonamsa, and Suncheon Bay.
Miniskirts for winter! Great! Last year, mini-shorts were all the rage... even in -10 winter weather. I sure hope those girls wear leggings under their skirts in summer, since we wouldn't want the aircon to freeze their fallopian tubes (YOU know the article I'm referring to). And I sure hope their boyfriends are comfortable enough in a parka and winter pants while these poor ladies freeze their dumbasses off (literally) next to them (but gee, they look so darn cute!).
Oops, you're right, they're mini shorts not a skirt.
Suncheon Bay is nice, as they renovated the area around the Eco-Center and have really been pushing the "Eco Capital of Korea" business. They also put a tourist information booth in Suncheon Station, although when I asked a few questions they didn't seem as knowledgable as the people staffing the one outside the train station.
aircon and fallopian tubes? I realize I'm a new arrival to the party, so excuse me not knowing the article referred to by the previous commenter.. What's this about? Do you have a link? Fan death AND fan sterility? Wow. Next thing is going to be a story about the iPhone causing penis shrinkage. iPhone? I forgot, they don't have those in Korea.. a good thing too, with all of the aircons and fans causing mayhem, I don't know if Korea could handle THAT too.. Anyway, gotta link for the aircon-poon story?
She's talking about a Chosun Ilbo article (brought up last April Fools Day) in which gynecologists said wearing miniskirts can lead to infertility:
***
When your abdominal region and bottom are exposed, it cools blood passing through fat layers and the uterus and ovaries, giving rise to menstrual cramps and uterus myoma. And that, some doctors believe, can lead to infertility. “It’s important that women keep themselves warm even in the hot summer days,” says Prof. Kim Min-joung, a gynecologist at Catholic University of Korea’s Holy Family (Sungga) Hopistal. “When you develop the feeling of cold by not taking enough care to keep your body warm, it can cause infertility.”
A study shows that abdominal temperature of patients with menstrual cramps and infertility tends to be lower than that of healthy women. Do not wear mini skirts during your period, because when temperatures around your uterus fall, menstrual cramps get worse. Those who have trouble with their heart and lungs, arthritis or chronic diseases such as diabetes have a weaker immune system, which means they need to take extra caution in wearing mini skirts.
