Behind the times with this one, but in addition to the Chrysanthemum Festival in Hampyeong, there's one in Gochang county (고창국화축제), Jeollabuk-do. The Gochang website has a list of nearby attractions. Gochang is pretty close to Gwangju, with twenty buses making the seventy-minute trip each day.
I have a few posts scheduled for tomorrow---yes, I'm a loser and I frequently write post-dated entries---and a helluva travelogue coming up probably on Tuesday or Wednesday that will knock your socks off, if I do say so myself, so stay tuned.
