I've been an avid reader of your site and always find it to be very informative and entertaining :)
Awwww.
I was wondering in Seoul if you saw much in way of local lead generation for companies. ie a website/websites that does online advertising for group coupons, deals, discounts etc.. for Seoul entertainment businesses, restaurants, spas, and the such. I know here in the US it is commonplace, but wondered if culture differences may lean away from such practices. Any examples if they do exist?
. . .
I guess what I was most interested in was group buying power in S. Korea. Largely discounted services based upon X amount of customers buying the service. Was also very curious about some of the larger social & entertainment sites there in Seoul.

koreahotel.com. It's the English arm of hotelnjoy.com, which is the Korean equivalent of Expedia. It's easily the cheapest place to get hotel stays all over Korea. They were advertising with 10 Magazine (10magazine.asia) for a while, but they've stopped now.
I think what he's trying to get at is, "is there a Groupon clone in Korea?"
Do you know where this reader is based? If he's near Seattle, we should chat.
Of course there are group discounts in Korea. For most touristy places, if you have a group of like twenty or more, you each get 5 percent off.
No go make nineteen friends!
@Darien
What's your email address?
Of course discounts of up to 30-40% are available to holders of the right credit card or the right mobile phone membership...
I haven't been there recently, but Caribbean Bay gave you a discount simply for being a foreigner, regardless of the number. I believe it was 15% the last I received it; I got it, and my girlfriend (Korean) didn't.
Yeah, but she would have got 30% for having the appropriate credit card etc. As a Korean, I think you'd struggle to qualify for no discount at all
There's a special place in hell for spammers.
there is a new group trying to do a groupon model for foreigners in korea. they have had some difficulties starting out, but they are nice group of people. dealicious.kr
