땅끝 sort of looks like Korea there.

Haenam county has released this picture, which shows "Land's Edge" (땅끝, the southernmost point on peninsular Korea) from an angle, resembling the Korean peninsula.

Here's what it looks like on a Naver map.

Buses run from the Gwangju terminal to 땅끝 twelve times a day, if you're interested. If you go, hike Dalmasan, visit Mihwangsa temple, and stay at the tourist hotel shaped like one of Yi Sun-shin's turtle ships.

There's no Dokdo. Does that mean that in the future Korea will give up its claim?

or, and correct me if i am wrong in thinking this is rare entertainment in Korea, a caravan park. Literally, small caravans. Awesome. On the beach, too.

Just so we're clear, it's the Koreans who are obsessed with Tokto, right? ;)

There's a neighborhood of Honolulu on the way to Hanauma Bay (one of the city's most famous attractions) whose lights, when viewed from a certain vista point at night, look like a map of Korea. Apparently it has gotten a blurb or two in travel articles about Hawaii, but the crowds I ferry around usually would rather see where "Lost" is filmed.

The Honolulu one also has no Tokto, so that is being remedied by construction of an add-on in someone's yard, sponsored by the local consulate.

That's the price I paid for choosing to live in a different time zone.
