Korea Times: "English Study Fever May Irk Foreign Tourists."
As you can imagine it was cleaned up quite a bit from the original draft, and the title was changed from "Holy shit, can you give it a rest for like two fucking seconds while I'm trying to do this vacation?" to something not of my choosing. My latest KT piece objecting to students using a Seoul city tour to practice English on the unwitting foreign customers also proves that I'm incapable of taking a good photo.

I totally agree with you on what you wrote in KT. But, it really depends on the person. If they're a "real" tourist or just the "weekend" tourist - someone who lives/works here teaching English.
For me, if i go away for the weekend, and on some kind of tour, even if I'm with friends, or alone, I don't want to be bothered by children (and their parents) to be used as free English practice. I'll just do what I do when I go away for a weekend... use Korean. :p
Also, a lot of Koreans won't be able to tell if you're from France, or somewhere else in Europe. Just pretend not to speak English. I've done that a few times. Works like a treat :p
Also, having an escape plan is good. Buses are damn hard to get out of. :p
Whoa! Brian got a haircut.
Brian, my name is Daniel Gray and I am currently working with an American TV show that is coming to Jeollanamdo. I was wondering if I could ask you some questions since you live in the area.
Yeah, you can ask me some questions. My email address is on the bottom of the article.
A friend contacted me a few days ago saying that one of her friends is working with a TV show profiling food in the area. She asked me if I knew any good restaurants, but I don't because to be honest I'm not as interested in the culinary culture as in other things. Not sure if you're the same person. But, if I can be of help on other things I'll do my best.
Brian, it says you are a kyosu or professor on your banner. Is that true?
Whoops, read too quickly -- kyosa not kyosu. My mistake!
That's the description of my site from Naver. I'm not a professor, nor am I in Yeosu or named "Brain."
