The exchange program between
sister cities Gangjin and Snoqualmie, Washington, has gotten a
relatively good bit of press the past couple years. This month
a Gangjin middle schooler's trip over winter break made the local paper, the
SnoValley Star.
Fresh off the airplane after a grueling trip from Korea, teenager Eun Seong confessed to one big objective for his monthlong trip to Snoqualmie.
“I want to eat a Twinkie,” he said during a reception at Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, sister city of Seong’s hometown of Gangjin.
That's funny. I had one of those moments, too.
ReplyDeleteAfter several years of living here, I would get the weirdest cravings. Twinkies was one of them.
My mum called and asked what I wanted for my (upcoming) birthday. I told her sending cash was easiest, but could she PLEASE send a box of Twinkies, too.
M: (disbelieving) "Really??"
DB: "Yes. Serious craving. Serious."
Received the Twinkies two weeks later, ripped into the box and jammed one of them--whole--into my mouth. Eww. Craving officially satisfied, I spit out the disgusting mess and threw the remaining ones away. Eww.
OTOH, I still have my craving for a Drake's coffee cake and a Brio Chinotto to wash it down.
