With the whole NSETs being phased out issue: is it because we're becoming too difficult?
Standing up for our rights? Coupled with Korea's hiring of too many inexperienced teachers (read: people Korea thought could be manipulated easily and cheaply)?
And now they resort to hiring people they perceive as more easily manipulated (and cheaper)?
This is priceless. I've been in Korea for three months. I was feeling a little depressed today, but I felt better after watching this video. All the Korean teachers in the “teacher room” at my school saw me laughing my head off.
I'm sure every ESL teacher in Korea has experienced at least one of the problems mentioned in the video. For me it was the moldy apartment and health problems (not serious)
Best line: "Less than three?" "Yes."..."Great, then you're hired." Maybe I shouldn't be laughing at this but it's just too funny.
I spent three and a half years in Korea, my first job was tricky a bit. The woman so reminded me of some Korea women I have worked with. The deadpan Borg like voice was perfect, so little emotion. The teacher should have told her he would place fans in her room while she sleeps. So funny

"Oh, my god!"
OK. Well that video was an extreme example...
Definitely not made up, though.
