The JoongAng Daily says ten bottles of 1973 Glenlivet premium single malt whiskey are being sold for 3.1 million won at a Lotte Department Store in Seoul. Here are models holding some:

From Yonhap.

Because nothing says "luxury" in Korea like some white bitches.

That should read "Because nothing says "luxery" in Korea like some white bitches in bridesmaid dresses"

Nah. Luxury is Western European white bitches. An analogy:

Western European white bitches: Mercedes Benz S-Class luxury.

Ukrainian white bitches like this: Ssangyong Chairman luxury.

Nothing says alcoholism like paying 3.1 million won to buy a bottle of hooch.

Alright, alright, enough of the snarky comments. Personally, I think it's a sign of Korea's advancement that certain individuals are buying single malt whisky. True, the people who bought those are most likely impressed by the fact a single bottle cost $2,700, but it is an indication that the tyranny of blended whisky may well be coming to an end. Now if we can only convince the common Kim that there is equal taste value in a 10 yr old malt as there is in a 18 yr old.

Until they smoke cigars with that whisky, there ain't no luxery at all.

Like the Chairman comment. Sounds true!!

Actually, that says the opposite of alcoholism. Alcoholics almost universally favor cheap and dirty. This is for the sort of douche that never drinks but likes people to think he does and also has great taste in whiskey.

@Lancity: Yeah, I can see that, I actually considered that when I was posting.

A good example of what you mentioned, "A douche that never drinks but likes people to think he does and also has great taste in whiskey," would probably be the guy who owns the school that I work for. He has a large corner office that takes up a good portion of the third floor. (This is a middle school.) I went into that office one time to meet his family, only to see that he had two or three large cases all filled with high end liquor, then I thought, hmm is this really appropriate to have in school?

But still if you don't really have the money to afford a 3.1 million bottle of whiskey, but do any way, it kind of illustrates some misplaced priorities.
