English-only radio station begins December 1st.

The first English-only radio station will begin broadcasting tomorrow, December 1st, in Seoul on 101.3 FM. Called TBS eFM, it will have traffic information, news, music, and talk radio. Next year English TBS channels in Busan and Gwangju are expected to open. Official website here, with program information and streaming audio.

The "K-popular" host 손정민 is really hot, and just came out with some new photos.

Well...I guess this could be interesting. Or it could be like Arirang.

Best case scenario is it's like "Suprise!"

Nice pics. Jessica Gomez is awesome, too. Is the station hosted bby Koreans? If so, I wouldn't want to suffer through terrible pronunciation at school and on the way to work.

Why is it for "foreigners"? Does that mean that my fluent-in-English Korean friends aren't allowed to listen?

Maybe you have to enter your foreigner ID to listen. If you have a Korean ID it won't work unless you scan your birth certificate.

I have a feeling this will be a lot like Arirang. You know, stuff for "foreigners"---talking about kimchi, four seasons, and the like---rather than the stuff non-Korean residents would like to know.

Thanks for the link, I had no idea that this was going on. I listened to the first half hour and it wasn't particularly engrossing, though it was interesting to hear Lee Myung Bak promise to become a regular listener... I too fear it'll be Arirang all over again.
